I qualified at the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003, and since then I have been practising as an Osteopath. I practice osteopathy based on the classical principles, which take a more holistic approach to treatment, often used alongside conventional medicine. I learned these principles during my degree from the influence of classically trained osteopaths and an affiliation to Mr John Wernham.
Since qualifying in 2003, I have undertaken various courses to help me gain a greater understanding of the human body and treatment of the diverse conditions that affect it.
I have completed courses on pregnancy and treatment, as well as paediatric studies to complete the picture, however, I have decided that paediatric treatments are not for me and I prefer treating adults. I have also undertaken training in CranioSacral therapy which allows me to widen the scope of my practice and address other issues that may not be of a musculoskeletal nature or for people who may want an all together different treatment approach.
Why I Am So Passionate About Osteopathy….
My mother suffered for a while with headaches and dizzy spells; the cause of which was at first, something of a mystery to the team of doctors treating her. The headaches and dizziness were often so severe that she would be unable to sleep lying down, and had to remain virtually upright. While we were awaiting test results, a family friend suggested that she might benefit from an osteopathic assessment, and provided us with the details of a local osteopath.
I accompanied her to her subsequent treatments and was fascinated to see what I now know to be a 'neck adjustment' being carried out. This, among other techniques, provided her with such relief that she was able to sleep in a conventional position that night for the first time in months.
This left a huge impression on me, and I was captivated with how a simple adjustment could relieve such severe and deep-seated discomfort.

The osteopathic treatment my mum received all those years ago provided a huge relief for her and indeed for us, as we saw a visible improvement in her wellbeing. As an osteopath, I find it is an incredibly rewarding profession too. It allows me to treat people with many different problems from the serious to posture re-alignments, and relieve their pain from everyday wear and tear that we all get from time to time.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my family and friends, who have provided me with invaluable inspiration and support over the years and continue to do so every day.
